Apply to Participate in ArtCenter and CCA's Teach-Out Agreement.

California College of the Arts is a wonderful institution with a rich, creative tradition and we are confident that this agreement will enable you to transition smoothly into ArtCenter College of Design to complete your degree and thrive in your new home.

In support of undergraduate and graduate CCA students, we are offering a streamlined process through which we can quickly outline an individualized Teach-Out pathway to graduation at ArtCenter.

    Teach-Out Agreement

Participation in the Teach-Out Agreement for students applying to equivalent programs at ArtCenter includes the following:

    • Individualized advising throughout all stages of your decision-making process, including admissions, transfer, and financial aid advising
    • A Transfer Credit Evaluation showing how many credits you will need to complete at ArtCenter and how many semesters degree completion will require
    • A simplified/streamlined application
    • Waiver of application fee, application essay requirements, video essay requirement, and English Language Proficiency
    • For students in good academic standing (GPA of 2.5 or higher), waiver of required creative portfolio
    • Transfer of relevant application documents from CCA directly to ArtCenter
    • Specialized scholarship consideration
    • Advisement for international students in transferring your I-20

    How to Apply

To participate in this program, begin by completing ArtCenter’s application and marking "Yes" when asked if you have been impacted by the recent change to CCA’s operations. ArtCenter will work directly with CCA to acquire all the necessary information to review your application and provide a Transfer Credit Evaluation.

Applications for Fall 2027 open on August 1, 2026. While our Priority Application Date for the Fall 2027 term is February 1, 2027, we will continue accepting applications for the Teach-Out program on a rolling basis beyond this date.

Students not in good academic standing (GPA below 2.5) may be asked to provide additional materials, such as an essay, personal statement, and/or portfolio, so that ArtCenter can evaluate ability to successfully complete a degree at ArtCenter.

If you have any questions regarding the Teach-Out Agreement process, please reach out to us directly to schedule a time to meet.
