ArtCenter College of Design encourages students from California College of the Arts to consider joining our community to complete their degrees.
     


    CCA is a wonderful institution with a rich, creative tradition and we are confident that you will transition smoothly into ArtCenter and thrive in your new home.  

    In support of undergraduate and graduate CCA students, we are offering a streamlined process through which we can quickly outline an individualized pathway to graduation at ArtCenter. Just start ArtCenter’s application and mark "Yes" when asked if you have been impacted by the recent change to CCA’s operations.

    To create an efficient and easy process for you, we will:

    • Provide individualized advising throughout all stages of your decision-making process, including admissions, transfer, and financial aid advising
    • Provide a simplified/streamlined application
    • Waive our application fee
    • Waive our application essay requirements
    • Waive our video essay requirement
    • For graduate students, waive our essay, letters of recommendation, and resume requirements
    • Work with unofficial transcripts to create our preliminary transfer/completion pathway assessment
    • Provide specific guidance to you as to what creative work/portfolio to provide for your transfer credit assessment
    • Aim to optimize your transfer credit
    • Provide scholarship consideration that aims to reach your current level of scholarship support
    • Provide advisement to international students in transferring your I-20
    • Review applications on a rolling basis

    We will reach out immediately after reviewing your submission to discuss any additional materials necessary to assess your application and to design your transfer/completion pathway at ArtCenter.

    Next Steps for CCA Students
    • For current CCA students who were admitted to ArtCenter in Fall 2025, you can defer your previous acceptance to ArtCenter to start with us in the Spring 2026, Summer 2026, or Fall 2026 term. Please forgo the streamlined application and email admissions@artcenter.edu with your request to defer your Fall 2025 acceptance and attach your unofficial CCA transcripts.
    • For current CCA students who are in your second, third, or fourth year of study, or students who were not previously admitted to ArtCenter in the Fall 2025 term, complete a brief online application and upload your CCA transcripts (unofficial or official) and ArtCenter’s Associate Director of Transfer Admissions, Bryan Green, or Director of Graduate Admissions, Nathan Weikert, will be in touch to provide guidance on next steps and to gather any additional materials necessary to design your transfer/completion pathway/teach out plan at ArtCenter.

    While our Priority Application Date for Fall 2026 is February 1, we will continue accepting applications on a rolling basis. To assist you in preparing your application for submission, here are a few suggested dates to submit your application, but again, you may submit your application at any time.

    • Apply by February 1 and we will provide an admissions decision no later than March 1
    • Apply by March 1 and we will provide an admissions decision no later than April 1
    • Apply by April 1 and we will provide an admissions decision no later than May 1
    • Apply by May 1 and we will provide an admissions decision no later than June 1
    • Apply by June 1 and we will provide an admissions decision no later than July 1
    • Apply by July 1 and we will provide an admissions decision no later than August 1

    Portfolio

    • 2.9 GPA or lower, you are required to submit a portfolio of creative work. 
    • 3.0 GPA or higher, an admissions counselor will reach out inquiring about submitting additional creative work for evaluation if necessary.


    Language Proficiency Score

    For Please upload a copy of your most recent TOEFL/IELTS/DET exam score. Once we evaluate your application and documents, if additional information related to your language proficiency is requested, an admissions counselor will reach out with the next steps to complete (if necessary). 


    Financial Aid and Scholarship

    • To be considered for financial aid and scholarship, please indicate “yes” on the ArtCenter application when asked if you would like to be considered.
    • CCA students should also provide their most recent Financial Aid Statement/Letter from CCA. Please upload this to your application for review. 
    • An admissions counselor will reach out inquiring about submitting additional creative work for evaluation if necessary.
    • If you are a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident, please submit/update your FAFSA and list ArtCenter (School code 001116) as a recipient school.
    • If you are an international student, you cannot submit the FAFSA but will be considered for scholarship if you indicate you would like to be considered on your application.
    • We will aim to provide scholarship notification within two weeks of acceptance.
